How do I reset my Microsoft 365 password?
Go to aka.ms/sspr in your browser and follow the self-service password reset steps. You'll need to verify via your authenticator app or backup email. If you're locked out completely, call or email Amine and we'll reset it for you within the hour.
My computer is running slow — what should I do?
First, try a full restart (not just sleep). Close any unused browser tabs and applications. If it's still slow after a restart, submit a ticket via Atera or email us — we can remotely check CPU, memory, and disk usage to diagnose the issue quickly.
I got a suspicious email — what should I do?
Do not click any links or open attachments. Forward the email as an attachment to alahrizi@alitconsulting.com with the subject "Suspicious Email." If you already clicked a link, call Amine immediately — don't wait. Quick action can prevent a breach from spreading.
How do I set up Microsoft Authenticator on a new phone?
Install the Microsoft Authenticator app from the App Store or Google Play. Then go to aka.ms/mfasetup, sign in, and add a new authentication method. If you're having trouble, submit a ticket and we'll walk you through it remotely in under 10 minutes.
How do I access my files remotely?
Your files are synced to OneDrive and/or SharePoint — sign into portal.office.com from any device to access them. If you need access to your office computer directly, we may have remote desktop set up for you. Contact us and we can confirm your remote access options.
A new employee is starting — what do I need to do?
Email us at least 3 business days before their start date with their full name, job title, start date, and what software/access they'll need. We'll create their Microsoft 365 account, set up MFA, provision their device, and have everything ready on day one.
An employee is leaving — what should I do?
Notify us on or before their last day — ideally with 24 hours notice. We'll immediately disable their accounts, revoke access, preserve their mailbox, and transfer any files. Don't wait — ex-employee accounts are one of the most common security risks.
How do I check if my backup is working?
Log into the Datto portal (link above) and check the backup status. Green means healthy. If you see yellow or red, email us right away. We also monitor your backups 24/7 and will proactively reach out if something looks wrong — but it's good to check periodically.

Not over email, phone, Teams, or text — even with someone claiming to be IT support. We will never ask for your password.

Think before you click
Hover over links before clicking. If an email feels urgent or unusual, call the sender directly to verify before acting.

Keep MFA active
Never approve an MFA prompt you didn't initiate. If you get an unexpected approval request, deny it and call us immediately.

Lock your screen
Always lock your computer when stepping away — Windows: Win+L, Mac: Cmd+Ctrl+Q. Especially important in shared or public spaces.
